Rafting on the river Svetlaya and river V. Angara.
It is III Class. Rafting part is 90 - 100 km, you
begin the rafting in the place where the road from
the village Kumora is pressed to the river.
Access to the river Svetlaya is very difficult!
1 d. - Reach the New Uoyan by train. Departure of the train 616
"Severobaikalsk - Novy Uoyan" is on 1 h. - 45 min.
(Moscow
time).
Bus takes you to the village Kumora (70 km) or you go
with the lorry "Ural". Swimming in the hot springs,
dinner
on the lake Irkana; very difficult access to the river
Svetlaya. Arrive river Svetlaya by horse carriage in the
evening or using lorry "Ural".
Fishing. In environment it is possible regale oneself
with berries of great bilberries, black currents. It
depends from time of rafting; in end of August
bilberries,
black currents are ripe.
2 d. - time for getting up, daily morning physical exercises,
swimming, Morning fishing - from the fish biting well is
grayling; to lovers of fishing it is necessary to have
spinning rod and artificial (man-made) flays for the
grayling catching and spoon-baits for catching other
type of fish; breakfast.
The first day of rafting - you act carefully, there
are dangerous rapids. You are rafting for 15-20 km.
Fishing.
3 d. - time for getting up, daily morning physical exercises,
swimming, morning fishing, breakfast. Rafting till the
river Ilokaluy. Day of rest, you can go to the mount
1716 m. Fishing.
4 d. - time for getting up, daily morning physical exercises,
swimming, morning fishing, breakfast. Rafting down till
you meet the river V. Angara. It is good fishing.
5 d. - Rafting on the river V. Angara.
6 d. - Rafting. Rest day.
In the mouth of the river Dzelinda (tributary of the river
V.
Angara) about 1 km there are hot springs: 11 beds for sleeping,
cafe for 30 seats, three open bathes. Sizes of bathes are 4 x 4
meters.
Severobaikalsk railway department is building hydro
(establishment) for 50 places. In the evening about 14 hours
(Moscow time) you take the train 615 "Novy Uoyan -
Severobaikalsk"
and at 16 h. (Moscow time) return to Severobaikalsk.
It is necessary to take personal gear: tents, rugs, sleeping
bags, bedding.
Optimum dates are: June - till the middle of August.
